Description: Old Times in the Colonies by Charles Carleton Coffin. Published by Harper & Brothers β First Edition, 1880. This Hardcover Book is actually written for Juvenile readers (Preface starts out βTo the Boys and Girls of America) and covers US history from Columbus to the French & Indian War. It is packed with over 100 fabulous Black & White Illustrations of people, places and maps β at least two of the full page Illustrations by Howard Pyle, one being his famous Pilgrim illustration. 453 pages + Index. This is one of twelve books published apparently as part of the World Freedom series. The Book is in very good condition. Pages are generally clean β some staining along the bottom tips of a few dozen pages - and without tears though there is some mild corner bumping to most on the upper right. None of this is terribly significant. Binding is tight. The Reddish Brown Boards are in good condition though there is wear along the edging, particularly the spine. The Black and Gold decorations, particularly the Gold, is bright and crisp.
