Description: Here's an early open pontil 1700s blackglass porter or liquor bottle with a very long crude neck ...found many years ago on an ocean shipwreck site off the coast of New England by a diver, but I have no provenance for the bottle other than that......... Free blown so there are no mold seams.....rough open pontil bottom ...round with long neck....crude sheared, slightly flared lip with drippy layed on ring around neck.....dark olive green blackglass....9 5/8"tall......excellent condition with no chips, dings or cracks; only some surface scratches from the sandy ocean floor. No other damage. This is a very crude blown great looking early blackglass bottle. Guaranteed authentic and from the 1700s. I dont know the name of the shipwreck because the diver who found this bottle died many years ago. This bottle came originally from an old Massuchusetts estate collection....
