The many loyal men who have labored unceasingly to make rescue more swift and sure deserve great credit for making what is certain to be a lasting contribution to the safety of air operations, civil as well as military. They have saved a very great number of lives, shepherding hundreds of hurt aircraft safely home to England and bringing back nearly a thousand men lost at sea.
